# Plans & pricing

> Create the plans you offer, including their pricing and feature limits.

A tenant can be subscribed to **one plan at a time**. Each plan has three parts:

| Part               | Description                                                    |
| ------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Price**          | The amount charged to the tenant.                              |
| **Billing period** | How often the tenant is charged.                               |
| **Feature limits** | Limits for contacts, WhatsApp channels, AI features, and more. |

## Before you start

  A base currency must be configured before a plan can be created. See [Currency setup](/pa/currency-setup). The **Add Plan** button stays disabled, with a tooltip explaining why, until a currency exists.

  A tenant plan cannot have higher limits than your own plan. If your plan allows 10,000 contacts, a tenant plan can allow up to 10,000 contacts, but not more.

  Each field shows the maximum allowed value, such as **Max 10000**. **Unlimited** is available only when your own plan has an unlimited limit.

## Create a plan

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the plan form">
    Go to **Plans** and click **Add Plan**.

  <Step title="Fill in the plan details">
    On the left side of the form:

    | Field              | Description                                                                                     |
    | ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
    | **Plan name**      | The name shown to tenants.                                                                      |
    | **Description**    | A short summary of the plan.                                                                    |
    | **Slug**           | Auto-generated from the name, and locked once saved.                                            |
    | **Billing period** | One period only — Monthly, Quarterly, Half-Yearly, Yearly, or Lifetime.                         |
    | **Price**          | The amount charged for that period.                                                             |
    | **Private**        | Hides the plan from the public pricing page. The plan can only be assigned manually to tenants. |

    On the right, in **Plan features**, turn on every feature and limit the plan should include.

## Free plans

When **Free plan** is enabled, the plan does not require a price or billing period. Instead, you set **Trial days** from 1 to 365 days. Tenants can sign up and use the platform without paying.

  A tenant can use a free plan only if they have never used a paid plan or another free plan before.
</Note>

While any tenant is still on the trial, the **Free plan** switch is disabled and the plan cannot be made paid. It unlocks once every trial on that plan has ended.

## Editing and removing plans

| Action                    | What it does                                                                                  |
| ------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Duplicate**             | Creates a copy of the plan. The copy starts as private and must be published separately.      |
| **Make private / public** | Changes whether the plan is visible on the storefront. Pricing and features remain unchanged. |
| **Delete**                | Permanently deletes the plan.                                                                 |
